Description DM2008102403:SAED:SOCIAL:WEDDING:PERSONALITIES:JUL 1962 - Quiet Big Wedding - Flower Girls snatch moment of fun while couple not looking. The big wedding turned out to quiet a quiet affair - with far fewer than the thousands of guests who were expected. A late lunch was served - it turned out to be dinner - and festivities (including sacred music) lasted two whole days. Township gossip buzzed about it. This was to be a big show, Chief Tidimane Pilane marrying Irene Ross of Johannesburg. Hundreds of pounds were spent on preparations for the affair, tipped to be the 'Wedding of the Year'.
