Description: . SAED:BEAUTY:PERSONALITY:MODEL: DRUM MARCH 1952 Ð PinnieÕs New Dress Ð Our photographer saw this pretty girl on the steps of the Johannesburg Public Library. She is so smartly dressed and looks so cool and fresh that we thought you might like to copy her elegant striped frock. Her name is Miss Pinnie Matlale. We think that loose panel with the big, useful pocket is a grand idea, and would look smart on any plain tailored dress. Top marks, Pinnie, for looking so stylish! Description: DM2011052414:SAED:BEAUTY:PERSONALITY:MODEL:JUN 1952 – Mr Drum’s Search For Beauty – A quick look-round for the Ideal of African Glamour. This pretty has a different type of beauty, her sideways glance is both demure and appealing, her gentle expression a contract to the vicious Virginia and Babsy! For many days last month Mr Drum, who revels in digging up the most unusual stories for the benefit of his readers was out in search of African beauty. Locations, hospitals, factories and private homes, in fact even side streets were thoroughly combed. The result is the galaxy of African brunettes appearing on these pages. Description: DM2008060294:AED:POLITICS:PERSONALITIES:AUG 1964 - The Malawi Magician Swirling a black-stalked, fleecy-maned, extra big model over his head, maestro of the fly-switch, Dr H Kamuzu Bandu conducted his people into independence. Swirl, swirl went the fly-switch. Kwacha! roared the crowd. Swirl, swirl. KAMUZU! The little Doctor looked more like a magician than ever before the magician of Malawi, cloaked in London suit, coat, black hat and the two great orbs of his dark glasses. And every time he waved his fly-switch, so it seemed to his people, new magic was made. (Photograph by Drum Photographer BAHA)

Mrs.F.D. was born 33 years ago to Rev. P.W. Anaman of Kwanyaku; her mother is Mad. Hagar Anaman. Right in the footsteps of her parents, she was determined to take life seriously. Description: DM2008091603:EAED:POLITICS:PERSONALITIES:MAR 1964 - K.K Day - Kaunda speaks at first Press conference. Dr Kenneth Kaunda gets out of the car - the new, international model Kaunda that has developed over the past year; the precisely correct dark suit, not too striking, not too plain; the conservatively matched handkerchief and socks; the walk, perhaps a little swifter, with slightly lowered head; the teasing half smile. Pastor Frederick Modise is a worried man. Mr. Modise, head of the 10,000 strong International Pentecostal Church in Meadowlands, Soweto, has been accused of being a witch and the man responsible for the hideous Pretoria muti murders. It is not the first time that Mr. Modise, who claims to be a faith healer with many ex-withchdoctors and sangomas in his congregation, has been accused of being a murderer.
